At Saxe Orthodontics, we believe no one should be ashamed about the process of transforming their smile and gaining new confidence. It’s never too late to get braces!
You should be proud of your decision to do what’s best for your smile, your health, and your self esteem.
We understand that traditional metal braces might not be many adults’ desired treatment option, and that’s why we offer a number of modern, esthetically-appealing treatments, including invisible braces for adults.
Best Type of Braces for Adults
The best type of braces for you will depend on your treatment needs and preferences. Some adult patients prefer self-ligating metal braces or clear braces, and others prefer Invisalign® clear aligners.
At your complimentary exam with Dr. Saxe, your orthodontist will examine your condition, discuss your treatment preferences and present your treatment options to help you make the best decision for your smile.
Is adult orthodontics important?
Many people believe the teen years are the only time you can undergo orthodontic treatment, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Yes, the teen years are optimal for beginning treatment, as the teeth and jaw bones are still developing and are more susceptible to modification, but this doesn’t mean adult orthodontic treatment isn’t beneficial! In fact, adult orthodontic treatment can be a life changing experience for your health and confidence.
If you’ve seen some incredible adult braces before and after transformations, you may think the transformation was only esthetic. What you don’t see is how these adults’ lives were changed by treatment.
Orthodontic treatment can impact not only your appearance and self-esteem, but your chewing and bite functionality, your sleep quality and your breathing easability. It’s never too late to improve these vital functions!
Are there side effects of braces for adults?
The side effects of braces for adults are the same side effects of braces for teens or kids.
The purpose of orthodontic treatment is to shift your teeth out of their current misalignment, into a healthy alignment. This process comes with some minor side effects that are most apparent when you first start treatment.
With braces or Invisalign, you may experience some minor soreness the first few weeks of your treatment. This is completely normal! Your treatment is applying pressure that your teeth and gums haven’t experienced before.
During the first week or two, you may have to opt for softer foods until your teeth and gums adjust to your treatment. Life with braces or Invisalign isn’t difficult though! It just takes some minor adjustments—and these adjustments are worth the benefits you’ll experience.
Braces for Adults Prices
The cost of braces is affordable with us! At your first visit to our office, we’ll work with you to create a payment plan that meets your needs and fits your budget.
There is no fixed cost of treatment, because our orthodontists don’t do one-size-fits-all treatment plans. Your treatment plan will be 100% personalized to you and your needs.
How much are braces for adults with insurance?
This depends on your insurance provider. Your insurance coverage will be determined by the type of insurance plan you have. We’ll contact your provider to determine your orthodontic benefits prior to your initial consultation, so you can have an accurate estimate of cost at your initial consultation. Once treatment has started, we’re happy to submit insurance claims for you as a courtesy!
